Asphalt Shingle & Flat Re-roof For A Cape Coral Home

We recently had the pleasure of serving the roof repair needs of a customer in Cape Coral Florida. The homeowner did not realize that her roof had experienced wind damage from Hurricane Irma. Once a roof inspection took place, we discovered wind driven nails along with lifted and creased shingles. Following inspection, our office was hired to perform a shingle and flat re-roof on the home. We carried out the roof replacement using GAF’s Timberline HDZ shingle system and the appropriate materials to replace the flat roof portion of the roofing structure. Additionally, the customer also contracted our company to complete interior repairs to their home.

Scope Of Work:

Provide permit, labor, and materials to complete the following shingle re-roof:

  1. Remove existing layers of shingles, underlayment, fasteners and dispose of in First Service dumpsters.
  2. Inspect the condition of existing decking, flashing, and fascia board for their suitability of re-use. Any damaged or deteriorated materials will be replaced on a unit price or time and material basis.
  3. Re-nail existing plywood roof deck to meet current Florida Building Code.
  4. Furnish and install (1) layer of GAF Weather Watch Mineral-Surfaced Leak Barrier Peel & Stick, self-adhered shingle underlayment, applied direct to plywood roof deck in all valley and penetration locations.
  5. Furnish and install (1) layer of APOC Peel & Stick, self-adhered shingle underlayment, applied direct to plywood roof deck.
  6. Furnish and install new 26 GA – 16″ – Mill (50′) galvalume valley metal in all valleys. Note: We use a closed valley detail.
  7. Install 26 GA galvalume kitchen and dryer vents.
  8. Furnish and install drip edge fabricated from 26-gauge steel with a baked enamel finish. Standard color to be selected by Building Representative.
  9. Furnish and install GAF Pro-Start starter shingle at all eave/rake locations.
  10. Furnish and install 130 mph GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, nailed with (6) nails per shingle, to plywood decking. Color to be selected by Building Representative.
  11. Furnish and install GAF Seal A Ridge Hip & Ridge Cap Shingles at all hip and ridge locations. Color to match field shingle color.
  12. Furnish and install a GAF Cobra Rigid Vent3 Exhaust Vent system at applicable ridge lines.
  13. Furnish and install new lead pipe boots where existing pipes penetrate the roof surface.
  14. First Service will provide 2-year workmanship warranty and a GAF SYSTEM PLUS 50 YEAR NON-PRORATED WARRANTY ON ANY GAF MATERIAL ON THE ROOF. Stain Guard algae protection and 10-year limited warranty against blue-green algae discoloration available only on shingles sold in packages bearing the StainGuard® logo.

Provide permit, labor, and materials to complete the following for the front porch and back right flat roof:

  1. Remove roof covering and underlayment.
  2. Re-nail decking to local hurricane mitigation code.
  3. Install new 26 GA pre-painted drip edge flashing to entire roof perimeter.
  4. The flat roof will be replaced using Polyglass peel and stick base sheet and topped with Polyglass torch down cap sheet.

 

Tile Roof Replacement For Fort Myers Home In The Shadow Wood Preserve

Our office recently had the pleasure of serving the roofing needs of a homeowner within the Shadow Wood Preserve community in Fort Myers Florida. After experiencing damage as a result of Hurricane Irma, we were contacted to perform a roof inspection. Upon inspection, it was determined that a complete roof replacement would be needed to properly repair the home’s roofing structure. The team at First Service worked with the homeowner to educate them of their options of repair, and guide them through the roof replacement process. For their replacement roofing tile, our customer selected Boral’s Barcelona 900 tile in the Chestnut Burnt color. This tile accented their home’s color scheme beautifully. Fort Myers Residential Tile Re-Roof

We recently visited a home in need of roof repair in the Reflection Lakes community located in Fort Myers Florida. Upon inspection, it was determined that the customer’s roof was damaged from Hurricane Irma and . The home’s roof showed several active leaks over the kitchen bar, great room, laundry room, garage, and their covered lanai. Our roofing team performed a temporary tile roof repair until the roof replacement was able to be completed. Once the materials were delivered, our team carried out the roof replacement and gutter installation for our customer. The finished product turned out great and the Eagle Tile selected accented this home beautifully!

  • Jobsite will be cleaned of all work-related debris upon completion.

Master Bathroom Remodel And Paint Project In Cape Coral

With decades of paint and interior finishing experience, many Southwest Florida residents turn to First Service with their remodeling needs. Our office recently completed a master bathroom remodel for a wonderful client in Cape Coral Florida. We removed the existing bathtub, deck, and tile in the bathroom. Additionally, our team also removed tower on the shower walls and prepared the area for our customer’s requested modifications. The shower wall was enlarged and the drain and supply lines were adjusted as needed once the wall was framed. Our team then proceeded to install a new freestanding tub and fixture, completed tile work in the shower area and floor, drywalled the walls accordingly, and painted the bathroom based on our customers selections.

This remodeled bathroom turned out great and our customer couldn’t be happier with the finished product.

Scope Of Work:

  • Prep area where work is to be performed, lay Ram Board as needed to protect floor.
  • Demo tub, tub deck, tile surround including walls at water closet, and knee wall.
  • Demo tile on shower walls and floor.
  • Demo fixed glass at shower wall, fill in with proper framing as needed.
  • Enlarge opening into shower, size to be determined in field.
  • Adjust drain and supply lines as needed to install customer supplied freestanding tub and fixture.
  • Build 4′ knee wall at water closet.

  • Install customer supplied tub splash guard wall tile, 50 sq. ft.
  • Tile remaining floor with customer supplied tile to match existing. Customer has on site.
  • Install two new can lights into shower tying into existing switch.
  • Rework plumbing in shower as needed for two shower heads on opposite wall, valve to be in original location.
  • Trench shower drain to accept linear style drain in existing location.
  • Construct two niches in wall underneath new shower heads.
  • Install customer supplied shower fixtures / valve.
  • Install customer supplied tile foot shelf, shower floor and wall tile, 175 sq. ft. wall tile and 32 sq. ft. floor tile.
  • Frame in shelf above linen, match texture to existing as close as possible.
  • All new drywall not tiled, to match existing wall texture as best as possible.
  • Paint entire bathroom walls, color to be determined.
  • Install new baseboard where tile was removed, match to existing, First Service to supply.
  • Note: Trench shower drain to accept linear style drain at end of shower and re-slope for proper drainage

Tile Roof Replacement For Estero Residence

Our roofing division was recently contacted by a homeowner within the Palmira Golf & Country Club in Estero Florida in need of roof repair. Upon inspection, our office determined that the damage the roof sustained from Hurricane Irma warranted the need for a tile roof replacement. The homeowner contracted First Service to complete the re-roof project using Boral’s Saxony 900 Flat Slate tile. The tan and brown tones of this tile beautifully accented the home’s color scheme. The finished project turned out great and our homeowner can rest assured knowing that their home is protected with a new roof courtesy of First Service!

Residential Painting Project For North Fort Myers Home

We were recently contracted by a homeowner in the Moody River area that was looking to touch up their existing residence in preparation for the holidays. Our painting division carried out the customers wishes to refine and paint areas of the kitchen and dining room.   1. Case the sill of nine (9) interior opening, match existing windowsill casing as best as possible.
  2. Prime casing prior to install, caulk, and touch up paint on casing after install.
  3. Install one (1) customer supplied ceiling fan, existing circuit.
  4. Install transfer switch for 6500KW generator on outside wall back side of electrical panel.

 

Bokeelia Shingle Roof Replacement

Our office was recently contacted by the mayor of Crestview Florida, who owns a vacation cottage in Southwest Florida located in Bokeelia. The homeowner’s insurance had threatened to drop their coverage of the property if he did not replace the 15-year-old roof on the Bokeelia cottage. Once contacted, we were happy to visit the island to provide a quote and ultimately complete the work necessary to replace the roof. Sidewalk Addition For Tarpon Point Resort

Our team at First Service proudly serves the general construction needs of those we serve. We’re proud to showcase this sidewalk addition we recently completed for Tarpon Point Marina. Our team constructed a retaining wall and installed a new sidewalk from the boat docks to the road at Tarpon Point. The final product turned out great and should serve Tarpon Point for years to come!

Scope Of Work:

Provide labor and materials for the below mentioned project.

  • Construct a retaining wall and install new sidewalk from docks to road.
  • Cut area from docks to road for a 6′ wide sidewalk, approximately 75′ linear feet.
  • Install cut face landscaping block as a retaining wall along hedge row, secure as needed.
  • Fill, compact, and grade base as needed for new sidewalk concrete forms.
  • Cut curbing at road to receive sidewalk forms, not to cut curb footer.
  • Pour 4″ of fiber reinforced concrete to a broom finish.
  • Upon completion the job site will be cleaned of all work-related debris.

Lehigh Acres Shingle Re-Roof

Our roofing division recently completed a shingle roof replacement for a Lehigh Acres home that had experienced damage from Hurricane Irma. Upon inspection, roof damage was found which was also determined to be the cause of a leak experienced in the home’s master bedroom. Once contracted, our roofing team removed the existing roof covering and underlayment and installed a new roof using Tamko underlayment and shingles. The project turned out great and our homeowners can rest assured that their home is protected from Florida’s harsh weather conditions for years to come!

Tarpon Landings Painting Project
