We were recently contacted by a homeowner in Southwest Florida residing in Cape Coral with a request to inspect and ultimately replace their homes roof. Once awarded the contract, our team got to work removing the home’s existing roofing structure to then install GAF’s new Timberline^® HDZ^™ Shingles. These shingles are rated to 130 mph and perfectly suited for our severe Southwest Florida weather. This home also possessed a section of roof that was flat, and our team replaced and tied that section as well to the home’s new shingle roof system.

Following the roof replacement, we also installed new 6″ brown aluminum seamless guters around the entire perimeter eave of the home (while stopping at the screen enclosure). We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve our wonderful client, and are proud to showcase this project. Their new roof will serve the home well for years to come!

1. Remove existing layers of shingles, underlayment, fasteners and dispose of in First Service dumpsters.
2. Inspect the condition of existing decking, flashing, and fascia board for their suitability of re-use. Any damaged or deteriorated materials will be replaced on a unit price or time and material basis.
3. Re-nail existing plywood roof deck to meet current Florida Building Code.
4. Furnish and install (1) layer of GAF Weather Watch Mineral-Surfaced Leak Barrier Peel & Stick, self-adhered shingle underlayment, applied direct to plywood roof deck in all valley and penetration locations.
5. Furnish and install (1) layer of Leak Barrier MS300 Ice and Water Armor Self-Bond Peel & Stick, self-adhered shingle underlayment, applied direct to plywood roof deck.
6. Furnish and install new 26 GA – 16″ – Mill (50′) galvalume valley metal in all valleys. Note: We use a closed valley detail.
7. Install 26 GA galvalume kitchen and dryer vents.
8. Furnish and install drip edge fabricated from 26-gauge steel with a baked enamel finish. Standard color to be selected by Building Representative.
9. Furnish and install GAF Pro-Start starter shingle at all eave/rake locations.
10. Furnish and install 130 mph GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, nailed with (6) nails per shingle, to plywood decking. Color to be selected by Building Representative.
11. Furnish and install GAF Seal A Ridge Hip & Ridge Cap Shingles at all hip and ridge locations. Color to match field shingle color.
12. Furnish and install a GAF Cobra Rigid Vent3 Exhaust Vent system at applicable ridge lines.
13. Furnish and install new lead pipe boots where existing pipes penetrate the roof surface.
14. First Service will provide 2-year workmanship warranty and a GAF SYSTEM PLUS 50 YEAR NON-PRORATED WARRANTY ON ANY GAF MATERIAL ON THE ROOF. Stain Guard algae protection and 10-year limited warranty against blue-green algae discoloration available only on shingles sold in packages bearing the StainGuard® logo.

Flat Roof Scope Of Work:

Provide permit, labor, and materials to complete the following:

1. Remove roof covering and underlayment.
2. Re-nail decking to local hurricane mitigation code.
3. Install new 26 GA pre-painted drip edge flashing to entire roof perimeter.
4. The flat roof will be replaced using Polyglass peel and stick base sheet and topped with Polyglass torch down cap sheet.
5. Tie in flat roof with shingle tie in.

Gutter System Scope Of Work:

Provide the following scope of work to the exterior gutters of the home:

1. Install 215LF of new 6″ brown aluminum seamless gutters around the entire perimeter eave of the house stopping at the screen enclosure.
2. Install “5” new Royal Brown downspouts in locations approved by the homeowner. –
3. Install “4” corner strip miters, “1” inside miters and “3” outside miters.
4. Install “1” splash guard, one on each inside corner at the base of each roof valley.
5. Upon completion the job site will be cleaned of all work-related debris.

Our office was recently contracted by a Fort Myers country club to repair damage sustained to their roofing structure as a result of Hurricane Irma. Our roofing division repaired the roofing structure on seven buildings, and also installed complete gutter systems accordingly. This project turned out great and we’re thankful for the opportunity to serve our great customer!

Our office was contacted recently by a resident of the Pelican Sound Golf & River Club in Estero Florida, to schedule a roof inspection for their home. Upon inspection, damage was found that was determined to be a result of Hurricane Irma which prompted a need for a complete tile roof replacement to take place. The customer also had our team install a new gutter system for their roof as well. The removal of the home’s existing roof, and installation of their new roof went smoothly and the final result speaks for itself!

Our roofing division was recently contracted to re-roof a home within the Rookery Pointe Community in Estero Florida. Upon inspection, the damage on our customer’s roof was determined to be a result of Hurricane Irma and First Service was hired to replace the existing roofing structure. Our team removed the existing roof and installed new Boral Estate tile along with a complete gutter system. The final product turned out amazing, and our customers are ecstatic with their new roof!

As the week progresses, we’re happy to showcase yet another tile roof replacement completed for a beautiful home in Estero Florida. It was determined during a roof inspection that this home had sustained damage as a result of Hurricane Irma. Following the inspection, our roofing division was contracted to remove the existing roof, and install a new tile roof and gutter system. The finished product turned out amazing, and our homeowners can rest assured that their home is protected from our harsh Southwest Florida weather for many years to come.

Our roofing division recently had the privilege of working with Polynesian Village Vacation Villas on Fort Myers beach. Following roof damage from Hurricane Irma, it was determined that roof replacements were needed for several structures on the property. Our roofing division was contacted to inspect a shingle roof in Cape Coral Florida for damage. The roof had experienced damage from Hurricane Irma and it was determined that a roof replacement was required. We sprung into action and were able to remove the existing roofing structure, and replace with GAF 130mph rated Timberline HDZ shingles. In addition to the new roof, this beautiful home also received a new seamless gutter system to complete the project.

Our office was contacted to inspect a home’s 23 year old roofing structure. Upon inspection, it was determined that the existing roof had a number of leaks and required a complete shingle roof replacement. As our roofing division completed the home’s re-roof, we also reinstalled fascia and soffit around the front doorway and left side of the home. Loose fascia was secured around the entire home, and the drip edge and fascia that tied into the walls was resealed. We also reinstalled the gutter on the left corner of the home and sealed all cuts in the drip edge in the customer’s gutter ends. Our customer can rest easy knowing that their home is protected by GAF’s 130 MPH rated Timberline HDZ shingles!
